The ‘Red Star’ cultivar of Cordyline australis is characterized by the intensive dark brown colour of its sword-like leaves. It grows from three to six metres tall. Its small, sweet-scented flowers appear from the late spring until summer. Due to its high decorative value, it is grown in gardens in countries with Mediterranean climates; in places like Poland’s, only as a potted plant.
