The silver dollar plant is a succulent, growing naturally up to 4 metres tall. The fleshy leaves, which store water, are matte (not glossy), silver-blue, often with red edges. The flowers are small and pink, with fivefold symmetry. Only in older specimens do they appear at the ends of the shoots. In Poland, this species is rarely cultivated indoors, and is often confused with the much more common jade tree or “money plant” (crassula ovata).
