Ficus elastica
English names: Rubber tree, Rubber plant
Latin name: Ficus elastica
Family: Fig - Moraceae

The rubber tree can grow up to 30 metres tall. It has numerous aerial roots. The leaves are large, elliptical, leathery, dark green, and smooth-edged. The flowers are small and dioecious, located in a pear-shaped inflorescence, open at the top, which also contains the fruit.
From the Ficus elastica’s milky sap, Assam rubber is obtained. Further, this is one of the most widely cultivated potted plants in countries such as Poland.
