During this vacation period, all those visiting the Castle during the day will receive, with their ticket, a new visitor guide.
It will tell you, especially, about the history of the Castle and its underground area. We present not only the context in which the underground was developed, but also a description of the underground tunnels. We have also chosen some Castle legends for you – and as we know, every legend contains a kernel of truth. Have you ever touched Fortune’s Rock at the Castle? To those who do so, it is said, the rock provides either wealth or true love. If you don’t believe in magic, come to make sure that you are not wrong. The new guide also contains a wealth of information about what is worth visiting at Książ: have you ever strolled along the remarkable route of hanging bridges, or visited the ruins of so-called Old Książ?
Especially with our visitors in mind, we have put together a series of stories, our “Top Ten Książ Secrets.” A great deal is said and written about the Castle, but some stories tend to get left out: those about which we are not certain or are difficult to confirm. We can only spin conjectures about them, and simply have too little time. From today, as part of your tour of Książ, play with these most important mysteries (partly hidden; in places you need to look, sometimes to stop, sometimes to compare or discover). For some of them, you may come up with your own theories.
Książ Castle is more than a breathtaking work of architecture with a remarkable history. Its complex of buildings is also ensconced in a beautiful verdant expanse, the magnificent centre of the Książ Landscape Park. For this reason, the guide includes such attractions as the lookout point, the Wałbrzych Palm House, the Hochberg Mausoleum and the Książ Stallion Stud Farm. It would of course be difficult to overlook the Książ Landscape Park itself, the animals that may be encountered there and the exhilarating “Książ Gorge” route, where rock walls rise up to 80 metres.
