A true seasonal present: visitors may now discover Książ Castle by following a route dedicated especially to the figure of Princess Daisy, the indomitable Princess Daisy whose story has captivated thousands of visitors. This is all thanks to the WOWPoland app, which offers a new, high-quality tour of the castle enriched with photos, music, and even three-dimensional views. You can read more about this app here.
So visitors need no longer wait for a guide, as access to the WOWPoland app is provided with an admission ticket. Beginning today, you can choose the “Princess Daisy’s Diary” route. What was it was like for a British aristocrat to become, so quickly, a German princess? Was her lively temperament constrained by the “corset” of Continental manners? Did you know that Daisy’s brother was the stepfather of Winston Churchill? That he met a ghost in Książ one night and… well, we’ll leave that for later.
The Hochberg dynasty were masters of the Castle for over 400 years. It was the vision and influence of the leading members of this family that most influenced the present appearance of Książ. As you walk about the Castle rooms, it’s worthwhile getting acquainted with their story. On this new route, there’s no lack of stories involving members of this colourful family.
The new visitor route is already the third, beside “Książ Castle’s Story” and “Tales of Książ, for the Young and Young at Heart” (dedicated to our youngest tourists), that is available through the WOWPoland app. So you can visit the Castle in the way that most interests you. Before long, a fourth route will present Książ’s military history.
It may appear that Daisy’s marriage to Hans Heinrich XV was at first a beautiful and carefree one, with the young English beauty at the side of a powerful prince. Come with us and learn, at each stop on the “Princess Daisy’s Diary” route, just how wonderful it really was.
