The Alexander Tower, or the so-called Great Tower, is located in a secluded part of the castle, to which tourists do not have access. The room is on the third, newly-modernized floor and consists of a circular conference room, a space for coffee breaks, and attached washrooms. The Alexander Tower is one of two unique rooms in the castle where guests may conduct meetings at modern round tables, allowing the speaker to present in the middle of the room. There is enough room in this remarkable space for up to 20 participants; it is most often used for meetings with VIPs, commercial negotiations, prestigious training sessions and conferences.
The room is an important part of the modern Congress-Cultural Centre, which was opened in 2012, and which is distinguished by its innovative technological solutions. The multi-media table in the tower is equipped with 230-volt power points for each of up to 20 participants, as well as a LAN socket (access to wired Internet). There is of course access to wireless internet in the whole tower area, as participants prefer. The speaker’s station provides for cordless control of two large panoramic mobile screens, conveying the presenter’s material to each participant.
In History: Baron Alexander Hochberg, Prince of Pless, himself chose the tower for his apartment, wanting this unique area with its view of the surrounding woods by day, and of the starlit sky by night. Notably, the former area was called the “White Tower” because each of its spaces featured a snow-white colour scheme.
